  • Welcome to Eckstein

I hope you are having a wonderful summer! It is already August and our first day of school is September 6th at 8:55am. Eckstein is beginning to wake up from the July break. Our floors are waxed and we are preparing! 6th grade students will kick off the year with a morning orientation on September 6th. Parents are welcome to walk students to the cafeteria for name tags and then to the auditorium. While 6th graders get oriented, returning 7th and 8th grade students will reconnect with their peers in homeroom and get ready to begin the year. New 7th and 8th graders will have a special orientation—more information will be available on our website. Remember to check the website regularly for updated information.

We are excited to welcome all incoming 6th grade students to Eckstein WEB Day on Monday, August 28th from 8am to noon in the school gym. WEB stands for “Where Everybody Belongs,” and this special day is designed to provide the opportunity for students to become familiar with Eckstein, meet their 8th grade student leaders and learn tips for achieving success in middle school.
Please sign your student in at 8:00 am in the gym, and encourage him/her to wear comfortable clothing for this active day. There is no need to bring school materials or a backpack. WEB Day is not mandatory, but we highly encourage 6th grade students to attend to ensure they have the best start of school possible. Please note that lunch and transportation are not provided on WEB Day.
If you have any questions or if your student needs special accommodations, please email Erin Sterling at emsterling@seattleschools.org. We hope to see your student on August 28th!

Parents and Guardians - Student safety is our top priority, and you can help us keep students safe by keeping these things in mind as you drop off and pick up your child at Eckstein:

  • Drive SLOWLY and USE EXTRA CAUTION whenever driving near the school
  • Do NOT drop off or pick up in the bus zone in front of Eckstein - Remind your student to cross the street at the crosswalk in front of the school, not at the corner of 30th & 75th where visibility is poor

Thank you for your cooperation in creating a safe environment for all of our kids!
