    Calling All Eckstein TALONS

    TALONS, our program for Eckstein Students Of Color, has moved to Thursday Enrichment time – 3:15PM – 3:50PM.

    TALONS for Black & Brown students of Color

    • Enrichment program for Black and Brown Students of Color.
    • Inviting students in grades 6-8
    • Receive an introductory supply bag and a gift card when you join.
    • Earn rewards for achieving excellence in foundational skills.


    We've created an incentive program and have mentors ready to do outreach, tutors willing to help support, and guest speakers ready to share.

    We are also investing in a leadership curriculum ( from AWSL (Association of Washington Student Leaders) based on a generous grant from our very own EAC program. Thank you!!!

    We've built it and are ready for students to come join the fun.

    James LaymanOur guest speaker on December 10th , 2020 is Mr. James Layman, AWSL Director of Mission Peak Leadership Camp and; Senior Counselor at Mt. Triumph Leadership Camp. Mr. Layman also serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Student Activity Advisers presenting throughout Washington State and nationally. He’ll be introducing our new program Finding Your Vision tailored for middle school student leaders and discussing how it can help students build for the future. (

    Lauren de NormandieOur guest speaker for December 17th is Ms. Lauren de Normandie film and TV producer, casting director, writer, and Emmy nominee. She is also the Creative Executive for the social impact film, television and digital content co-financing company 1Community. Ms. De Normandie will be sharing her thoughts on the importance of building on your talents and understanding how you can make a difference in your community. (
