Summary: Private School Transcript Requests
2026-2027 School Year
Private School Application Requests are due Friday, December 4, 2026.
- No Requests Prior to December: Please do not request private school application records prior to December (exceptions noted below). Most private schools require Quarter 1 grades for the current school year, which are not available until December 1, 2026.
- Exceptions: If you have an early or sibling application deadline, please email Ms. Tai directly jetai@seattleschools.org.
- Please submit private school application records by December 4: We cannot guarantee that requests will be completed if your request is submitted after this deadline.
- Submit teacher recommendation requests by December 4: Please plan and think about what the application requires and provide enough time for teachers and staff to get the required recommendations and evaluations. Do not request recommendations over winter break as staff are not checking their email. We recommend that you email the teacher and let them know ahead of time prior to sending them a recommendation form.
Note: Some teachers have earlier deadlines than December 4. Please check with the teacher(s) you would like to get a recommendation from and confirm their timelines.
- Teacher Recommendations: It will be at the teachers’ discretion to provide a recommendation and they are not obligated to do so. Please have alternate teachers in mind. As noted below, students should talk to their teacher and email them prior to submitting a request. Teacher emails can be found in our Staff Directory or by logging into your Source Page.
- Review what the Application Requires: If your private school application is a PDF and has a cover page or information that needs to be filled out by the applicant/family, please fill out student information prior to sending it to Ms. Tai, the Registrar. Ms. Tai will send back applications with missing or incomplete information, and this may delay your application. Please do not send blank applications without reviewing what is required first.
- There is no fee for processing transcripts.

| Teacher Recommendation/Evaluation | – Choose one (1) teacher. Have alternate teachers in mind. – Please have your student personally ask their teacher before sending the recommendation paperwork. Paper/PDF Applications (Typically Catholic Schools)
Students who are applying to private schools who have a PDF application (example: Catholic schools) should email Ms. Tai, jetai@jetaiseattleschools.org. Please fill out any information that is required on the application prior to sending to Ms. Tai. She will not be able to release student records/transcripts without this information filled out.

| Teacher Recommendations | – Please have your student personally ask their teachers before sending the recommendation paperwork and please give teachers advance notice to fulfill the request on time. – Typically, Language Arts, Math, and World Language teachers are requested in the application but please review the directions from the private school as other subject area teachers may be included. – Choose one (1) of the student’s teachers to be the evaluation teacher. Give the form to that teacher’s email only. Your student must ask their chosen teacher in person before you submit a request. – If your application requires other subject area teachers to provide information, please ensure that you also ask those teachers directly. |
About Private School Transcript Requests
Private School Recommendation Process

Process for Paper or PDF Applications:
In cases where private schools require paper or PDF applications, please follow these steps:
- Bring the packet with the first page completed to the Main Office for the Registrar to process. Registrar will process all forms needed and will disperse Teacher Recommendations and Evaluations.
- We will send a confirmation email upon completion of the application being emailed to the respective private schools.
- If an application must be mailed, you must provide an addressed envelope with postage for each school you have marked to receive applications. If no postage is provided, the document will be emailed to the respective schools.
