Eckstein Leadership Update
Dear Eckstein Families and Staff,
We recognize how challenging it can be when leadership changes. We also recognize the strain that shifting expectations place on a school. Our priority is ensuring stability, clarity, and strong leadership for our school communities.
Considering this, Principal Kristin Rose will remain as leader of Eckstein Middle School. Seattle Public Schools (SPS) will not move forward with the previously announced transition to Roosevelt High School. We appreciate her willingness to support the Roosevelt community.
We are grateful for Principal Rose’s steady leadership and her deep commitment to Eckstein. Over the past nine years, she has cultivated a positive school culture that reflects the school’s values, and we look forward to her continued success.
We also want to acknowledge and thank Assistant Principal Ambyr Burrell for her flexibility and readiness to support Eckstein during this transition period. Although she will remain in her leadership role at Nathan Hale High School, we are grateful for her willingness to assist and for the strong leadership she continues to provide within SPS.
Thank you for your understanding and for your continued support. If you have any questions, please reach out directly to Regional Executive Director Katrina Hunt at kmhunt@seattleschools.org.
In partnership,
Dr. Ricardo Torres-Morales
Associate Superintendent Seattle Public Schools
