Summer Band/Orchestra Camp for Incoming Sixth Graders

Future Eckstein Music Ensemble Parents & Guardians
Each year at this time, students eagerly wait their turn to join the award-winning Eckstein Middle School music program. The study of music can be one of the most valuable steps in your child’s education. Current research shows that playing an instrument increases brain development along with developing responsibility, mental discipline, teamwork and self-esteem.  It will also provide enjoyment while fostering a lifelong appreciation of music and the arts.

At Eckstein we are looking forward to working with your child.  Don’t forget to enroll in a music ensemble at Eckstein.  If you have any experience with a band/orchestra instrument, please register for Premier Band/Orchestra.  If you have no experience, please register for Introductory Band/Orchestra.  No audition is required!

This is also a great time to switch/try another instrument.  Let me know if you will need to borrow an instrument.

Eckstein Band Program

Eckstein Band offers rich programming to all students, with and without prior musical experience. Prospective Students of band are asked to interview with Director Moc Escobedo (Mr. E) and are assigned a band level; students sign up for band as one of their electives for the year.  During band, students learn how to work together on an amazing array of musical numbers – from classical pieces to popular movie soundtracks, and enjoy performance opportunities during the year, including assemblies and family concerts. Highest level bands may also take field trips and perform at festivals.

We offer multiple Ensembles to meet the needs and interests of our student population.

We ask band families to pay an annual Enrichment Fee per student. This pays for reeds, equipment, festival fees, music, and so much more!  Scholarships are available.

We accept Donations, year-round!  Donations make music possible for all students, regardless of means.

Volunteers Wanted to help keep the show running and support the hard work of Mr. E and the student musicians! Jobs can be big or small, one-time or year-round, and any/all help is appreciated.

Questions? Email our Band Chair with any questions you may have: ecksteinbandfamilies@gmail.com
